Evernote for iOS picks up iPad split-screen support, handwriting in notes and more

Evernote has launched a new version of its iOS app that brings with it some new and noteworthy features, as well as support for even more multitasking.
The company announced on November 4 that it has included new sketching and handwriting features within its popular note-taking app, but also managed to sneak in some iPad-specific features, too. First and foremost comes handwriting and sketching support within the Notes section of Evernote, which can be accessed via a new Pen icon that’s present, and that will populate a drop-down bar that offers a variety of tools, including a pen, eraser, a selection tool, and a highlighter.
Tapping twice on the pen or highlighter will then bring up more options, which includes the thickness of the line and the color.
For Evernote users on iPhone 6s or 6s Plus, using 3D Touch can change the line weight of what you’re writing or sketching by adjusting to the pressure applied to the display, which should be a welcomed addition.
On top of that, Evernote for iOS on the iPad now supports split-screen support, which should mean taking notes with the app will be even easier while doing something else.
The update also includes performance enhancements and other behind-the-scenes tweaks.
